토머스 울프 (Thomas Wolfe)

1900~1938. 미국의 소설가. 노스캐롤라이나주 애슈빌 (North Carolina, Asheville) 출생.

노스캐롤라이나대학 졸업 후 하버드 대학원에서 희곡을 공부하였다. 풍부한 이미지와 시정(詩情)이 넘치는 독특한 문체로 자전적인 소설을 많이 썼다. 주요 저서에 <천사여 고향을 보라 Look Homeward, Angel>(1929) <때와 흐름에 관하여 Of Time and the River>(1935) <거미줄과 바위 The Web and the Rock>(1939) <그대 다시는 고향에 가지 못하리 You Can’t Go Home Again>(1940) 등이 있다.
